Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Griffith University Research Scholarships 2025, applicants must:

• Be international students (non-domestic) and not hold Australian permanent residency or New Zealand citizenship.

• Be commencing or currently enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program at Griffith University.

• Hold a bachelor’s degree with First Class Honours (Class I) or an equivalent qualification recognized by Griffith University.

• Not have completed a degree at the same or higher level as the HDR program they are applying for.

• Not be receiving any other scholarship, award, or grant from the government or another organization.

• Not have previously held the same or an equivalent scholarship unless it was terminated within six months of commencement.

• Not have held a Commonwealth Government Australia Award scholarship in the past two years unless approved by the Commonwealth Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Selection Criteria

• Academic merit, especially in qualifications with significant research components.

• International reputation of the institution where the qualification was completed.

• Research background and experience.

• Compatibility between the applicant, research environment, and supervision team.

Application Process

2. Select a Research Degree: Choose your preferred HDR program at Griffith University.

3. Find a Research Project and Supervisor: Identify a research project and secure a supervisor.

4. Submit Application: Complete and submit the application form online.
