Description
Gloria Charite is the 2023 East African Rhodes Scholar and an MSc by Research student at the University of Oxford in the Department of Experimental Psychology. Using EEG, eye tracking and respiration measurements, her current research explores the physiological and neural mechanisms that support the functioning of memory systems. She recently received the Clarendon Scholarship to continue her studies in the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences. There, she will be pursuing a PhD at the newly launched Oxford Centre for Global Epilepsy. Her proposed project will investigate the psychological and cognitive comorbidities of epilepsy in Rwanda. Prior to Oxford, she earned a BA (Hons) in Psychology from Columbia University. Her academic achievements include winning the Columbia Business School Undergraduate Fellowship, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and becoming a member of the Phi Beta Kappa, America’s most prestigious academic honours society.
